2024, a record year for the V.I.E program in the Nordics

This year saw a new milestone for the V.I.E program in the Nordics, with 404 participants working across 109 companies at the end of 2024. This steady growth highlights the increasing attractiveness of the region, with more and more young European talents drawn to a dynamic and innovative environment. At the same time, companies have embraced this cost-effective HR program to recruit and retain new talents.

Sweden remains the historic leader of the V.I.E program in the Nordics, with over 180 V.I.E currently performing a professional assignment across 57 companies. Over the last few years, Denmark has seen the highest growth in the number of V.I.Es. In just two years, Denmark has seen the number of V.I.Es rise from 68 to 125, an 83% increase. This success can be partly explained by the ratification of a tax treaty between Denmark and France, ending the taxation of V.I.Es in Denmark.  Norway completes the podium with 84 V.I.E, marking a 25% rise over the same period. Finally, Finland welcomes 11 V.I.E across 9 companies using the program.

Among the program’s users, the largest French groups are the leading users. The program is also used by SMEs and mid-sized enterprises, helping them enter new international markets while offering them greater visibility among young professionals.
