    Annabelle, a passionate French volunteer started her adventure at Airbus Americas in Herndon, USA, where she found exceptional support from her mentor Linda. Through their cultural differences, Annabelle and Linda’s collaboration exemplifies the dedication and commitment to inclusion within the V.I.E program

    Annabelle started her V.I.E in Herndon, Virginia (United States of America) in September 2022 as a HR Development Project manager at Airbus Americas. After graduating from business school in Rennes and completing exchanges in Spain, Singapore and Indonesia, Annabelle spent over 2 years in the HR consulting industry in Paris. Longing for more international ventures, Annabelle decided to join the V.I.E program.

    Linda is an experienced senior level human resources business leader. Over her career at Airbus, she specialized in organizational development and talent management, both locally and internationally. As a leader, she is driven by inclusion and employee growth and translates overall strategic development into concrete changes in operational activities.

    Volunteering abroad through Business France’s V.I.E program is an exciting opportunity for young professionals to gain valuable professional experience. For Linda, the V.I.E experience isn’t just about a career step or a chance to travel to another country — it’s also an opportunity for cultural immersion and personal growth in order to broaden one’s horizons, building strong bonds within the team, which is beneficial not only for the volunteer, but also for their local colleagues.

    This way, They recognize the importance of open communication in bridging cultural gaps. Through frequent and transparent weekly discussions, they navigate their different cultural backgrounds and identify common ground to work harmoniously. This approach not only facilitated effective teamwork but also allowed them to learn from each other’s perspectives and experiences.

    “Regardless of what we’re doing and wherever we are, weekly meetings are vital for us to check in, to keep every team member updated on what’s going on. Of course, that includes our V.I.E members, because they’re part of the team as soon as they step in.” Linda, Vice President Develop
