Actium Grand Marché de Provence in the spotlight at the French Embassy in Denmark

Reflecting this shift towards the Nordic market, on 25 September 2024 an event was organised by Business France at the French Embassy in Copenhagen featuring the know-how of Actium Grand Marché de Provence. Five journalists participated in a cooking workshop led by Per Thøstesen, chef at Bistro Boheme and Etienne Lemaitre, chef at the French Embassy in Denmark. The menu created by the chefs highlighted the products’ exceptional freshness and aromatic richness. Fruits and vegetables from Provence were cooked in a delightful atmosphere. Afterwards, Danish professionals in the sector had the opportunity to discover a wide range of products through a mini-market setting where a delegation of producers displayed their delicious produce. Carefully selected according to the season, the products showcased the diversity of Provencal production. This B2B cocktail was also the perfect opportunity for Danish professionals to learn more about fruit & vegetable’ production in the south of France and the variety of terroirs.

A wide range of fruits & vegetables from a mosaic of terroirs

Working with over 80 producers, Actium Grand Marché de Provence covers a large part of Southern France, offering a wide range of high-quality products. It thus represents the diversity of French agriculture, with each terroir bringing its own characteristics to the products.

The expertise and know-how of each producer of these regions are reinforced by Protected Designations of Origin (PDO) and Protected Geographical Indications (PGI). These labels, such as PGI Abricot des Baronnies, PGI Melon de Cavaillon (in the process of being labeled) or PDO Raisin Muscat du Ventoux, guarantee quality, respect for tradition and authenticity. They also recognise the work produced by producers and guarantee consumers exceptional, authentic products.  The complementary nature of these regions, with their different terroirs and climates, enables Actium Grand Marché de Provence to offer a vast range of products throughout the year.

Fresh and quality products all year round

As part of this commitment to providing authentic, high-quality products, Actium Grand Marché de Provence makes it a point of honor to only provide products according to the seasonal calendar of production. This respect for the seasons allows for fresh fruit and vegetables with an authentic taste, enabling consumers to enjoy products at their peak throughout the year. In each season, there will be something for you! From savouring juicy apples and enjoying squash in the fall to tasty cabbages and clementines in winter, fresh asparagus and strawberries in spring and delicious cherries and sun-kissed tomatoes in summer. This seasonal approach also aligns perfectly with Nordic consumers’ growing demand for fresh, local and seasonal products, making Actium’s offer particularly well-suited.
