The World Water Forum, whose 9th edition has just been held for the first time in sub-Saharan Africa, has the particularity of bringing together every three years at international level, water stakeholders in all their diversity on a multitude of subjects for which water is the common denominator.

With a strong mobilisation and success alongside the world water community, from 21 to 25 March, nearly 5,000 participants from different backgrounds, particularly from Africa, and from all levels (public and private sectors, politicians, institutions, multilateral organisations, civil society, NGOs and business-industry, etc.) were able to meet, exchange, debate and propose solutions, their solutions.

On this occasion, individual and collective meetings were organised during these 5 days between the members of the delegation and the main public and private players in the sector. No less than 40 companies were supported via the CHOOSE FRANCE Business Space in partnership with the Occitanie Region, the AD’OCC Development Agency, the France Water Team group, the Auvergne Rhône Alpes Region, POLLUTEC – RX and the French Water Partnership (PFE).

Five days of exhibitions and meetings with several highlights in our Choose France Pavillion:

Appreciated visit of Mrs Bérangère ABBA, Secretary of State to the Minister of Ecological Transition, in charge of Biodiversity, accompanied by Philippe LALLIOT, French Ambassador to Senegal.

Visit of Mr. Christophe LECOURTIER, DG of Business France, who was able to talk and share with several participating companies, several of which were also accompanied by their VIEs in Senegal; let us recall that Senegal currently has a total of 71 VIEs (one of the largest contingents in Africa). This was followed by a networking cocktail in our space to which a number of local actors and organisations had been invited.

The first feedback received from our companies on their participation is already very positive, and for some of them there are already very good opportunities and concrete perspectives to come.
