A record number of V.I.Es in Sweden!

The Volontariat in Entreprise V.I.E, or international internship program, is a unique French initiative providing companies with a tool to attract talents for a professional mission abroad. A win-win program for both companies and talents, which is growing quickly in the Nordics and Sweden in particular. 

Thanks to this program, a company with a French establishment can hire and send a European talent from 18 to 28 years on a working assignment abroad for a period of 6 to 24 months. Over 10 000 young talents are currently pursuing a professional mission around the world thanks to more than 1900 companies who using this program. 

Sweden is reaching new highs

Launched in March 2000, the V.I.E program has since developed strongly in the Nordic countries, especially during the last years, to reach a record number of V.I.Es. Currently, 351 VIEs work in 93 different companies in either Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Iceland. 

Sweden is significantly leading the program in the Nordics with nearly 180 V.I.Es currently a mission, a record number! This is only possible thanks to the 54 companies who are using this program.  Since 2021, the number of V.I.E grew significantly, +100% in 2 years and +35% in 1 year. Sweden is now the 13th most attractive country out of 120 according to the number of V.I.E.s on assignment.

A program with multiple benefits for companies

One of the most significant advantages of the V.I.E. program is that it provides companies access to a pool of highly qualified and motivated European candidates. Over 40,000 talents are actively looking for a professional mission abroad and uploaded their CV on Business France’s website. 

The V.I.E program is also an excellent tool to attract and retain new talents. Well-known program in France, young graduates are interested in the V.I.E, which allows them to have a professional experience abroad in a secure system. A study conducted in 2022 reveals that 1 out of 2 talents decided to pursue their career in the company for which they did a V.I.E mission. 

The V.I.E is also a prefect way for a company to develop their presence outside of its home market. 71% of companies using the V.I.E program saw their export sales increase. With more than 20 years of history, the V.I.E is highly recommended by companies who have used it, 94% of them declared being satisfied with the scheme. 

A career accelerator for talents 

Thanks to this programs, talents develop cross-cultural competencies, adaptability, and language skills by living and working in a foreign country. They learn to navigate different work cultures, understand international business practices, and develop a global mindset, enhancing their employability. Following the end of their mission, they are 83% to have found a job within 3 months. 

3 out of 4 V.I.E consider this program a career accelerator, allowing them access to responsibilities they wouldn’t have had. This is one of the numerous advantages of this program which contributes to attracting candidates. 

 

The 5th edition of the Grand Prix V.I.E highlights the attractivity of the program

On Monday, 19 June, the 5th edition of the Grand Prix V.I.E. Sweden took place in Stockholm . The ceremony highlighted the numerous benefits of the program as well as the remarkable achievement and successful integration of V.I.Es in their companies. With a record number of 16 candidates, 4 of them were rewarded:  

  • Marie Requirandwon the “Grand Prix V.I.E” sponsored by Vinci. Marie started her journey at Bertin as an intern in France and is now pursuing it at Exensor in Sweden through the V.I.E program. Her role is to increase collaboration between the teams in France and in Sweden. 

  • Valentin Vuillermet won the « Coup de Cœur » Prize sponsored by BNP Paribas. The only representative of Temo in Sweden, a French S.M.E., Valentin is developing the Nordic market and Sweden in particular. 

  • Tatiana Maia won the Innovation Prize sponsored by CACIB. Tatiana works for Renault Trucks in Goteborg as a data scientist and contributes to implementing a decision-support tool.
