France, leading exporter of wine to Denmark
France is the leading exporter of wine to Denmark in value, ahead of Spain and Italy, its historical competitors.
Historical fact. In 2018, France became the leading wine exporter to Denmark. For the first time in nearly 10 years, France is overtaking its historic competitor, Italy. With a 27% market share in value terms, France has seen a 26% increase compared to 2017. Italy holds 24% of the market share in value terms, followed by Spain in 3rd position.

In terms of volume, France ranks second with 12.5% of the market share compared to 22.1% for Italy. However, while Italy is experiencing a 1% drop in market share, France sees its market share increase even in volume terms, with a 10% increase compared to 2017.
This is therefore a very positive and encouraging observation for the French wine sector in Denmark where competition is fierce!
