Business France & La French Tech keep the flag flying for France at Slush 2018

Business France will bring 10 startups to Slush to represent La French Tech on December 4 and 5, while some of the most renowned French talents such as Roxane Varza (CEO, Station F) Rand Hindi (CEO, Snips) and Alice Zagury (CEO, the family) will be on stage.

10 promising French startups well prepared to shine in the northern darkness

Despite the chilly weather and the lack of daylight, Slush manages to round up 20,000 tech-lovers in Helsinki on December 4 and 5. Business France, the national agency promoting the internationalization of the French economy, will bring a selection of 10 French startups to the event for the fourth time. The startups that can be found by the booths A13, A15, A17, A19, and A21.

A competition was organized to select the members of this delegation. A jury of experts came up with a short list of 10 promising startups. The selection was based on the three following criteria: the novelty value of the startup’s offering, the coherency of its business plan and the potential success after Slush. The startups also benefitted from a personalized coaching session to perfect their pitches and optimize their visibility at Slush by Mike Bradshaw, the head coach of Startup Sauna, the most well-known startup incubator in Finland.

La French Tech and Business France will organize the Slush side-event “Kill the baby or the grandma, the ethics of AI“, a unique AI debate evening with top players in the field of AI, including an opening keynote by Rand Hindi, CEO of Snips and panelists such as: Elina Berrebi – Founding Partner of Gaia Capital Partners, Maria Ritola – Co-Founder of iris.ai, Koen Vandecaveye,– Innovation & Life Sciences Lead at London & Partners and Petri Vuorinen – Chief Digital Officer at LähiTapiola. The talk is moderated by Stewart Rogers from VentureBeat

This reception will gather European startup founders, journalists and investors in a laidback networking session over food and drinks.
