Business France at Hannover Messe 2018
In the past five years, the trade show in Hannover has become the “CES of industry” by dedicating several of its thematic halls to the Industry of the Future. Thus, in 2017, it attracted 74 200 visitors with an interest in the Industry of the Future, including 65% from Germany, 11% from Asia, and 4% from the Americas. France represented the sixth largest foreign delegation, with 2 500 visitors.
Business France has a network of sector experts with direct access to local decision makers and opportunities, and is therefore able to support your export development project and provide you with a list of useful contacts.
This year, France will be hosting two Pavilions at the show:
Hall 8: DIGITAL FACTORY
Hall 27: HYDROGEN FUEL CELLS
Hall 27 Hydrogen fuel cells – Booth D-75
France has joined Germany, Scandinavia and Great Britain in the leading group of European countries most committed to this innovative and globally sustainable technology. The French Pavilion is being organized in partnership with the TENERRDIS energy cluster, two regions (AUVERGNE-RHONE-ALPES and BOURGOGNE-FRANCHE-COMTE), and the automotive cluster Pôle Véhicule du Futur.
Hall 8 Digital factory – Booth F-07
Hall 8, which is no doubt the most visited hall at the show, showcases the digital technology used in industry.
The Industry of the Future can be broken down into seven main areas:
- Automation, computer-integrated material handling, robotics;
- Energy efficiency;
- Value chain digitization;
- Additive manufacturing;
- Monitoring and control;
- New materials/composites;
- The Role of People.
In 2017, around ten events were organized at the French Pavilion, including six guided tours with foreign buyers and four technical conferences. Over 130 people attended each of the cocktail networking events organized with German and American decision makers. The companies exhibiting at the French Pavilion made on average 40 new commercial contacts over five days. Companies that prepare for the show in advance can make up to 100 new contacts. There is also a real possibility of being given a set of specifications at the end of the show.
The 2018 show will be the first to feature a Learning Expedition, organized by Bpifrance. French companies seeking to improve the performance of their manufacturing facilities may visit the trade show in Hannover for a day, and discover the latest innovations in the Industry of the Future.
