“Made in France, Made with Love” – ProWein Düsseldorf 2018

The French Pavilion

 

The French Pavilion will play host to 860 French winemakers and traders at the 25th edition of ProWein, the international Wines & Spirits trade show to be held from 18-20 March, in Düsseldorf.
Business France has opened a website www.frenchpavilionbybusinessfrance.com/prowein2018, specially for participating professionals wishing to put together their meeting agenda.
New in 2018: The “#BonjourProWein Showroom” presents a selection of 100 French wines and spirits revealed at tasting sessions upstream from the show, in three European countries.
An opportunity for visitors to uncover new products and producers (Hall 11, Stand A159).

 

Exhibitors 

 

For the second year straight, Business France will be organising the French Pavilion, which includes 860 exhibitors from all of France’s winemaking regions across nearly 6,500 m² across Halls 11 and 12.
The 58,500 international professionals expected to attend will be able to recognize Pavilion participants by the Made in France, Made with Love banner.
For the first time, the “#BonjourProWein Showroom” (Hall 11, Stand A159) will be presenting a selection of 100 French wines and spirits selected at three professional tasting sessions upstream from the show, in three European countries: Germany, Belgium and Sweden.

The Swedish tasting took place on 29th January with an eminent jury composed by Sören Polonius, coach to the National Sommelier Team and Head Sommelier at the Michelin star restaurant Esperanto, Håkan Larsson, wine journalist at “Allt om Vin”, Andreas Grube, wine journalist at the daily paper “Svenska Dagbladet”, Fredrik Horn, Head Sommelier at the Michelin star restaurant “Oaxen” and Sweden´s best sommelier in 2009, Krister Bengtsson, founder of StarWineList and associate to Robertson Wine and Elisabeth Engelsen Ellqvist, importer and awarded with the Mérite Agricole.
The Swedish jury agreed on that France was at a turning-point showcasing more modern wines, with an emphasis on the fruit and the freshness. The Swedish Top 5 was :
1. La Chapelle d´Albas – Château St Jacques d´Albas; 2. Monthélie – Domaine Berthelemot ; 3. La Gaffelière – La Vintage Company ; 4. Le Blanc – Château Léognan; 5. Le Chemin de Novi – Mas de Novi.
